Two Prospect members who have been forced to retire due to ill health have seen their civil service pension payouts dramatically increased thanks to interventions from Prospect. 

Prospect has welcomed Finance Minister, Derek Mackay’s statement in the Scottish Parliament yesterday that “time is up for austerity”.

GB, a Prospect member in the Valuation Office Agency, first contacted his VOA branch reps in November 2013 for pension advice. GB was seriously ill and had decided he might need to change his civil service pension arrangements.

Prospect has written to the government’s chief people officer, Rupert McNeil, endorsing the Valuation Office Agency’s new approach to performance management – and encouraging him to allow other civil service employers to adopt it.
