National Portrait Gallery
The National Portrait Gallery is one of the UK's major cultural institutions.
The Gallery's aim is ‘to promote through the medium of portraits the appreciation and understanding of the men and women who have made and are making British history and culture, and ... to promote the appreciation and understanding of portraiture in all media’.
The National Portrait Gallery is an executive non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media & Sport.
Prospect is one of the trade unions formally recognised by the Gallery and we represent a range of specialist and professional staff including Curators, Conservators, Art Handlers, Cataloguers, Education and Exhibitions staff, Librarians and Archivists and managers. We represent members on all matters including pay, grading and terms and conditions as well as providing individual representation when necessary.
