The Royal College of Nursing has said that nurses in Guernsey have lost confidence in the States and need to see meaningful action on pay and conditions. Other health staff on Guernsey are similarly affected by the lack of progress.

Stephen Langford, Prospect’s negotiator in Guernsey, said: "The review of terms undertaken by Dean Royles covered all staff on Agenda for Change terms and conditions, not just nursing and midwifery staff. For us, this means allied health professionals eg radiographers, biomedical scientists, pharmacists etc and some social workers.

"We are aware of the frustration and concerns expressed by the RCN. We will continue to work alongside them and the other unions involved to ensure that the review’s recommendations are appropriately prioritised, resourced and actioned for the benefit of both our members and the islanders who receive the important services they deliver."
