The Equal Pay validation process is quite complex but fundamentally the aim is to try and address the position of people paid low in range for no good reason. Working with BT we have sought to maximise the number of people likely to benefit and we expect nearly 5,000 people to do so.

In November managers will be using this process to determine who is eligible for an equal pay payment within their team. Any money will be paid in January 2011 salaries.
