About the calendar
In early 2013 photographer Leonora Saunders produced a series of portraits for a Guardian feature about women working in male-dominated industries.
We commissioned her to take a similar set of photographs of female Prospect members who work in roles traditionally thought of as male.
We compiled the photos into a calendar which we sold in 2014 to raise funds for a groundbreaking project with Oxfam. Itinerant domestic workers in the slums of Kenya's capital Nairobi are known as 'daybugs'. Our project aims to enhance the employment conditions of these marginalised and vulnerable women, and equip them with the skills they need to access decent work. We will provide them with training on employment rights and help develop their leadership skills.
