With more than 11,500 Prospect members living and working in Scotland across both the private and public sector, Prospect in Scotland is much more than just a microcosm of the UK.

From the Scottish Parliament, national galleries, the Forestry Commission and the Scottish National Trust to energy companies, dockyards and airports, Prospect members provide the same level of expertise and commitment to professional standards as anywhere else in the UK.

Tony Hall, director general of the BBC, made a compelling case for a renaissance of public service values at Prospect’s conference today (4 June).

Prospect, the Union representing professional, technical and specialist staff at the Dounreay nuclear facility in Caithness, has joined with Phil Craig,  CEO of the site operating company DSRL, in supporting the A’Mhoine bid to become the UK’s vertical launch spaceport facility in a bid to create new high quality jobs for the north of Scotland.  Dounreay’s other unions, the GMB and Unite, have already come out in support of the project.  

This year’s mental health awareness week, from 14-18 May, focuses on stress – a major contributor to mental ill health.
