Further to the success of the Love What You Do trial, Telefónica has decided to roll out the changes to salary/bonus structure across the Retail management population. Telefonica’s proposals in relation to retail pay will increase the basic pay of those employees in RCG1/10, RCG2/20 and RCG3/30 grades by 10% with a proportionate reduction in commission. Implementing these changes will prove expensive for the company due to increased basic salaries, National Insurance contributions and pension payments but there is a strong belief this is the right thing to do in terms of moving to a service led culture and excellent customer experience in store.
Telefónica has begun consultation with Prospect over changes within Learning and Development (L&D) affecting the management structure. The company’s aim is to develop and invest in L&D, working in partnership with the business, taking into consideration business priorities and broadening the L&D offering across the business. There will be an emphasis on operating in a simple, consistent way, providing a ‘fit for the future’ service, which can be accessed by all. As part of the proposals Digital Learning will be further developed and accessible via one common platform. It is expected the new structure will go live at the end of May 2014.
