In November 2002, the DTI commissioned British Power International to undertake an investigation into the storm power failures of 27 October 2002. Prospect submitted written evidence. On 23 July, the House of Commons Trade and Industry Select Committee announced a short inquiry into the progress made by electricity companies in addressing issues identified in the BPI report.
