Who's looking after British science? Public sector scientists, much of their work hidden from the public eye, undertake vital research on issues from DNA to diet, cancer to climate change, lasers to lakes. But despite the importance of this work, a shocking 660 posts have been axed from public science labs since the year 2000, with more under threat. Find out more about the nation's science and who is looking after it.The government's energy review On 23 January 2006 Secretary of State and Energy Minister Malcolm Wicks launched the government's consultation document "Our Energy Challenge: securing clean, affordable energy for the long term". In July the government published the resulting energy policy. With thousands of members working in the energy sector Prospect is actively involved in this debate.
