Your journey to personal development starts here
Our education programme will not only help you
to become a more effective rep - it can assist your career development
by counting towards a university degree.
In collaboration with Ruskin College we are offering a number
of fully accredited courses which will lead to the part-time
Certificate of Higher Education in Employment Studies for Professionals
and Specialists (CertHE).
The programme comprises twelve residential three-day modules
combined with workplace experience, distance learning and pre
and post course reading. The first modules are available now
via our education programme - look for the courses marked with
an asterisk.
Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme (CATS)
Each course module and assignment receives 10 points under the
Certificate of Study and Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme
(CATS). Assessment draws heavily on workplace learning and experience.
Your employer should welcome this as part of your personal or
career development portfolio.
If you complete 12 modules plus assignments you will accrue
120 CATS points in total and qualify for the Certificate (HE)
in Employment Studies for Professionals and Specialists - equivalent
to first year undergraduate level and validated by the Open
University Validation Service (OUVS).
You will also gain a transferable qualification for personal
professional development, and recognition by your employer of
your work and efforts as a union representative.
For further information on any of the above contact the education
unit - frances.moss@prospect.org.uk.
