The Sellafield Ltd (K280) Branch of Prospect union was formed in April 2009, and was formally the Sellafield section of the Nuclear, Decommissioning, Reprocessing & Fuels Branch (NDRF). It currently has over 4,500 members spread across each the company's sites.
Prospect is active on all of the NDA and former BNFL Companies sites and is the only trade union recognised by Sellafield Ltd. management to represent the interests of the Staff grades throughout the company. Our employer is very supportive of trade union membership for its employees and it is keen that members should take an active part in their union.
The Branch is actively involved in discussions and negotiations with management on issues from Pay and Conditions, Health & Safety, Performance Management, Annual Leave to Working Hours, Maternity/Paternity rights etc. indeed all areas of employment matters.
Many members turn to the union for support in dealing with individual problems within the workplace and we provide assistance and representation to many of our members during a year. Officers of the Branch Committee deal with most personal cases, supported and advised by other Branch Officers and Prospect National Officers where appropriate.
Prospect exists to support you and to represent your interests, but we can only do that if you are a member.
