Prospect in BBSRC
Prospect (formerly IPMS) is the only organisation with sole rights to represent scientific and other specialist staff within the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council. We are YOUR union, and the only one recognised by your employer to negotiate all aspects of your terms & conditions of employment including pay, pensions, leave and entitlements.
The union has a high profile in the various research institutes of BBSRC, and also centrally, as we make representations to Government Ministers and the Chief Scientist over issues such as public science funding. Furthermore, as an independent union PROSPECT is politically neutral. This allows us to challenge any political party in support of the membership.
Your branch and local committees are currently pursuing issues on your behalf with the support of a full time union official. These include; annual pay awards, working time directive, health and safety, individual grievances, JEGS, child care provision, redundancy policy and annual leave.
