Essential Skills for Union Volunteers

This course gives you the key
skills needed to help members
understand and influence Prospect’s
negotiations in your organisation.
You will explore the connections
between communications with members
and successful industrial
relations. You will consider how
your branch or section can
strengthen members’ voice at work
through effective campaigns and
publicity. You will examine
strategies for engaging existing
members raising Prospect’s profile
within your workplace/organisation.

This course is for you if:

· You are interested in our
campaigns for improving working
life; or

· You are a new rep and want
to make Prospect more effective in
your workplace; or

· You are a rep who wants to
involve more people in the union’s
work locally

If you have already attended former
Prospect courses Getting Started or
Getting Organised, or former
Connect course Essential Skills for
Union Volunteers, you do not need
to attend this course.

This is a 2-day residential course.
